Court admits list of beneficiaries of Diezani’s $115m

Justice Mohammed Aikawa of a Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday admitted a document containing the list of beneficiaries of $115, 010,000 allegedly stashed in a bank by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Allison-Madueke and distributed among individuals in 36 states of the Federation.

A prosecution witness, Timothy Olaobaju, had while testifying in the ongoing trial of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mohammed Dele Belgore and a former Minister of Planning, Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, over alleged N500 million fraud, narrated how the money was converted into naira and shared among the beneficiaries on the instruction of Diezani.

Upon the disclosure by Olaobaju, EFCC’s lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo, sought the court’s leave to re-examine the witness for him to put in the document containing the list of beneficiaries of the money as an exhibit.
