The Coordinator Lagos State chapter of the National Consolidation Ambassadors of Nigeria (NCAN) Hon Adewale Adeogun, has given reasons why the group paid for President Mohammadu Buhari’s APC Expression of Interest and Nomination form.
Hon. Adeogun said that the idea to procure the forms for the President arose out of the conviction of NCAN members nationwide that President Muhammadu Buhari has ruled the country with integrity and may not afford the N45m price tag of the forms.
The State Coordinator spoke through a release by NCAN’s Lagos Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Olisemeka Obi.
Hon. Adewale Adeogun was quoted as saying that the money was selflessly contributed by millions of members of NCAN nationwide who cut across tribal, religious, professional and social divide.
“It was an easy task getting people; both the rich and the poor to contribute to the fund due to the great love and respect Nigerians have for President Buhari”, noted Adeogun.
According to him, NCAN was privileged to champion the re-election of Mr. President as so many other similar organizations were equally willing.
“Buhari is a quality brand and he’s attracting massive followership nationally and international. His achievements and tract record speaks volume hence millions of Nigerians are working tirelessly to have him continue the good works”, he added.
The Ogun State born grassroots political Mobilizer and Strategist noted that NCAN, Lagos State is fully prepared to contribute her quota towards the re-election but waiting for his official confirmation as the candidate of the APC.
“We don’t want to go against the party rules because we recognise that the party is supreme. We plan to work with the APC Lagos State though we also have our campaign plans and strategy developed by our National body”.
In another development, NCAN Lagos State Chapter has successfully inaugurated its State Chapter executive as well as appointed Coordinators and Secretaries in the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs of the state.
The State Women Mobilizer of NCAN (Lagos), Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba told this reporter that the group is setting up very effective grassroot machinery.
‘We are already setting up ward coordinators. But we are careful because we are not competing with the party, rather we will complement them and serve as the link between the party and none party members who are willing to be actively involved in campaigning for Buhari”, she noted.
Princess Olabanji-Oba who is also the Vice Chair-person Ikorodu LGA of Lagos added that NCAN will also throw its weight behind all the candidates of APC in the state noting that the President will need the full support of loyal APC elected officials to successfully execute the party’s manifestos as against what is being experienced currently.
National Consolidation Ambassadors of Nigeria (NCAN) is one of the leading independent groups of passionate supporters of President Mohammadu Buhari from all walks of life who are mobilizing support for the re-election of the President in the 2019 General election.
